David Platt “Have we not created an entire system where we write a check so that we don’t have to go our selves?”. “If they [the lost] will go to heaven, then it makes sense for us to spend all of these millions and our resources and our time on our selves here, but if they ARE perishing and will go to an ETERNAL HELL not having ever heard this Gospel then we must Abandon ALL of our lives and our resources in the church to get the Gospel to them. One time Spurgeon was asked ‘will the heathen whose never heard the Gospel be saved?’ Spurgeon said ‘The real question is, whether or not the “real” Christians who have heard the Gospel, and are not taking it to those heathens, really can be saved at all’. ”

by adminBeloved, the cross is not made of feathers, or lined with velvet, it is heavy and galling to disobedient shoulders; but it is not an iron cross, though your fears have painted it with iron colours, it is a wooden cross, and a man can carry it, for the Man of sorrows tried the load. Take up your cross, and by the power of the Spirit of God you will soon be so in love with it, that like Moses, you would not exchange the reproach of Christ for all the treasures of Egypt. Remember that Jesus carried it, and it will smell sweetly; remember that it will soon be followed by the crown, and the thought of the coming weight of glory will greatly lighten the present heaviness of trouble.
C.H. Spurgeon
by adminThe more self sinks, the more Christ rises: like the two scales of a balance, one must
go down that the other may go up: self must sink in repentance that Christ may rise
by faith.
I came across a quote by C.H. Spurgeon today… It coincides with my own feelings on missions and being a missionary. I’ve always felt that a missionary is simply a christian living as he ought to any way, in another country. I think Spurgeon says it better – “Every Christian is a missionary or an imposter.” This doesn’t necessitate (though God may ask it of you) spending your life in a mud hut in Africa. But it does mean you should be a missionary to those in your life who do not yet know the life saving good news of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Are you living as a missionary, – Intentionally leading conversations towards the gospel?
